A breathable stockingfoot chest wader with a built-in gravel guard, a chest pocket and a hand-warmer pocket, offered in regular and stout cuts. The stout sizing is the real story: most breathable waders are cut for one body shape, and a stout pattern adds girth through the chest and seat without adding inseam, which is exactly what the sizing problem is.
Best for: Best Paramount wader overall — and the fit the brand exists for9.0 - 2

The same wader with a front waterproof zipper, which turns a two-minute sitting-down operation into a ten-second standing one. A zipper is the single most-appreciated wader feature after fit, and it is almost always a premium-tier option — having it at this price is the reason to look at the brand at all.
Best for: Best for anyone who hates getting out of waders8.9 - 3

A waist-high pant wader, which is the most underrated format in the category and the best one for creek fishing in summer. Fully sealed and footed to the waist, far cooler than a chest wader on a hot walk, and cheaper. If you never wade past your thighs, this is the model to buy from the range.
Best for: Best Paramount wader for small creeks in warm weather9.1 - 4

The dedicated large-size model, zippered, in stout cuts that run beyond where most brands' charts end. If you are over about 250 pounds or you have been told to buy a size up and live with the inseam, this is the honest answer in the range — the pattern adds girth rather than length.
Best for: Best for big and tall anglers8.8 - 5

Stockingfoot waders need boots, and buying both from the same brand keeps the total inside a sensible budget. The Stonefly is a cleated rubber-sole boot, which is legal in every state unlike felt, and competent rather than remarkable. Size it one full size above your shoe size to clear the bootie.
Best for: The matching boot — cheapest way to complete the setup8.4

Buy the Deep Eddy if you want the brand's core wader, and the Fast Eddy waist-high pant if you fish small creeks in warm weather. Paramount Outdoors is a breathable-wader specialist whose real contribution is sizing: regular, stout and extended cuts, with front zippers available at prices where zippers usually are not. If standard waders have never fit you through the chest or seat, that is the reason to read on.
This is a specification and fit review built from the brand's current listings. We have not field-tested these waders and do not claim to have — what follows is the range explained honestly, with the fit logic that decides between the models.
Who Paramount Outdoors are
A focused wader and boot brand, not a full tackle company. The catalog is breathable stockingfoot waders, a wading boot, and some accessories. There are no rods, no reels and no fly lines, which is a good sign in a wader brand — the companies that do one thing tend to do it with more attention than the ones that do everything.
Everything is sold under the Eddy name, which is confusing until you decode it. Deep Eddy is the chest wader. Fast Eddy is the waist-high pant. Big Eddy is the extended-size chest wader. Stonefly is the boot. Once you know that, the range is actually very simple.
Distribution is mostly online. That keeps the price down and it means you cannot try a pair on in a shop, which matters more here than usual because sizing is the whole point of the brand. Measure before you order.
The range, compared
| Model | Format | Wading depth | Zipper | Buy it if |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Deep Eddy | Chest wader | To the chest | No | You want the standard pair, in regular or stout |
| Deep Eddy Zippered | Chest wader | To the chest | Yes | You get in and out of waders often |
| Fast Eddy | Waist-high pant | To the waist | No | You fish small creeks, especially in summer |
| Big Eddy Zippered | Chest wader, stout | To the chest | Yes | Standard size charts stop before you do |
| Stonefly boot | Cleated rubber boot | n/a | n/a | You need boots to go with any of the above |
Four of the five are the same garment with different cuts and closures. That is not a criticism — it is what a focused brand looks like. The meaningful choices are depth (chest or waist), entry (zipper or over-the-head) and cut (regular, stout or extended).
Stout sizing is the actual selling point
Most waders are cut for one body shape and sized up proportionally. That means a broader angler who sizes up gets extra inseam they do not need along with the girth they do, and extra inseam is what causes bunching at the knee, abrasion, and the premature seam leaks that end a pair early.
A stout pattern adds girth without adding length. Paramount offers that across the Deep Eddy and Big Eddy lines, which is genuinely uncommon below premium pricing. If you have ever bought waders that fit your chest and pooled around your boots, this is the fix.
Measure four things before ordering: chest, waist, inseam and shoe size. The inseam is the critical one, and the full method — including what to do if you fall between sizes — is in how to size waders. Order the boots one full size above your street shoe to clear the neoprene bootie and a wading sock.
Stockingfoot means boots are a second purchase
Where the range stops
No neoprene, so no deep-winter option. Breathable waders are a shell; warmth comes from what you put under them. For 35-degree water in February you want a serious base layer system, and the options are in what to wear under waders. If you want insulation built in, this is not the brand.
One boot, in one sole type. The Stonefly is cleated rubber. There is no felt option and no studded option, which is fine — rubber is legal everywhere and studs can be added aftermarket — but it means boot choice within the brand is not really a choice. The comparison is in felt vs rubber soles.
No published women's-specific cut. The listings are men's sizing, and a women's wader is a different pattern through the hip and chest rather than a smaller number. If you need that, the options are in the best waders for women.
The closest alternatives
For the same money, the closest competitor is Frogg Toggs. The Hellbender PRO sits at a similar price with a similar breathable stockingfoot build and much wider dealer availability, but without the stout pattern. If fit is not your problem, it is the easier pair to buy and return.
Cheaper: TIDEWE or Kylebooker. Both undercut Paramount substantially and both give up pocket detail and fabric quality to do it. Our TIDEWE waders review covers what the cheapest tier actually costs you, and the budget wader roundup ranks the sub-$110 field.
Better: Simms or Orvis. Two to four times the price, with real repair programs and materials that last several seasons of hard use rather than one or two. The main wader roundup places all of these against each other, and the brand guide explains which companies actually stand behind the gear.
Two neighboring pages if the stout cut is why you are here. The best waders for big guys puts the Big Eddy and Deep Eddy stout cuts next to the Simms King sizes, and the premium commercial-grade alternative is in the Grundens waders review.

Frequently asked questions
Are Paramount Outdoors waders any good?
They are a solid mid-budget breathable wader whose real advantage is sizing. Paramount offers regular, stout and extended cuts with front zippers available at prices where zippers usually are not, which solves a fit problem most brands ignore. The fabric and pocket detail are good rather than premium, and boots are a separate purchase.
What is the difference between Deep Eddy and Fast Eddy waders?
Deep Eddy is a chest wader that wades to the chest; Fast Eddy is a waist-high pant wader that wades to the waist. Both are breathable and stockingfoot. Fast Eddy is cooler, cheaper and better for small creeks in warm weather; Deep Eddy is the one to buy if you ever wade deep.
Do Paramount waders come with boots?
No. Every wader in the range is stockingfoot, meaning it ends in a neoprene bootie that needs a separate wading boot over it. Paramount sells the Stonefly cleated rubber boot to pair with them - order it one full size above your street shoe size to clear the bootie and a wading sock.
What size Paramount waders should I buy?
Measure chest, waist, inseam and shoe size, and choose the stout cut if your girth sizes you up but your inseam does not. That is the whole point of the brand: a stout pattern adds room through the chest and seat without adding leg length, which prevents the fabric bunching that causes premature seam leaks.
